The Broken Hill Community Foundation is a credible, sustainable community capital fund that facilitates employment opportunities and encourages social development. The BHCF works with a wide range or local companies and groups providing them with project funds that are generated from the interest earned on the protected capital fund.
The BHCF model has been developed to assist Broken Hill to complete the transition from a once great mining icon to a vibrant, diverse and self reliant community. Grants are available to local businesses and groups for projects that help the BHCF achieve this aim. The BHCF provides an alternative funding avenue for seed funding for new or expanding projects in Broken Hill.
In order for the BHCF to make a lasting impact, it is the Boards vision to significantly increase the current capital fund in order to achieve the availability of substantial project funds per year into the community – indefinitely.
